Jacqueline Gierer, DO, FACP is a board-certified internal medicine physician. She grew up on the north shore of the Long Island Sound, graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Beaumont Royal Oak in 2015. The following year she served as Chief Resident, managing the education and administration of 96 residents. Dr. Gierer joined the highly regarded Clinical Faculty of Beaumont Royal Oak in 2016, developing a robust primary care practice with emphasis on providing high-quality, evidence-based medicine to her patients in a compassionate way. Patient satisfaction surveys consistently rank Dr. Gierer in the top 5 of all physicians at Beaumont Health and she was selected by her peers as a member of Hour Detroit's Top Docs in 2021.

Dr. Gierer founded a specialty maternal medicine clinic in cooperation with the Maternal Fetal Medicine department at Beaumont Health, where she provided advanced care to women with complicated medical issues in pregnancy and postpartum. She is considered an expert in the "4th Trimester" and maintains a close referral relationship with the area OBGYNs. This clinic was the only one of its kind in Michigan, and one of only a few in the country.

Dr. Gierer is an Assistant Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and spent several years running their clinical optimization program, supporting the educational needs of medical students across the academic spectrum. She also maintains faculty appointment in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has won several teaching awards, including Best Educator (Clinic) in 2020 and 2021. She has lectured regionally on Preventative Medicine, Mental Health, and Postpartum Medicine and has authored a medical textbook chapter on Nutrition in the Critically Ill Patient.

Dr. Gierer loves spending time with her husband and her two little boys. When she's not caring for her patients or her children, Dr. Gierer can be found running the local trails, creating delicious recipes her kids won't eat, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
